I headed up to Hannibal for the Big River Steampunk Festival once again. There was lots to see and do, so I will probably make a couple of posts as they will be picture heavy. Lets start with the finale of the costume contest. Earlier in the day they had a preliminary contest which had about 120 entries and then they narrowed it down. These were the final 12.
Judges table. Tom Willeford
and members of the Children of Proteus
The MC with the first contestant
a mechanical doll.
I got a better shot of the doll in the audience
This gentleman's story was that he was a butterfly rescuer, time traveler who fixed history. He had a device and a book that would let him know what had been changed and he would travel back in time to save the butterfly that was inadvertently killed and thus altered history. In essence he prevented the butterfly effect.
A team of Vampire Hunters
I moved to get a better vantage point
Here we have a fairy and a artist
This young lady was an Aviator
A better view of her jet pack
A Ghost Buster
Great view of his pack
I didn't hear everyones story, but the girl in red is Little Red Riding Hood.
I missed a couple of the contestants when I was moving.
This young lady was one of the ones I missed on stage.
As was Donatello
A side view of Donatello.
You can also get a glimpse of the fairy's wings.
The final three were the Doll, the Aviator and the Ghostbuster. The Winner was the Ghostbuster.
I am in the process of cleaning out some of the clutter in my basement. It was just getting so full. Of course that is where I keep all of my craft supplies and it is a bit overwhelming. Especially during craft fair season. I will set up tables to craft on and get everything all spread out and I like to leave it all out to pick up where I left off the next day. BUT! When it is time for a craft fair I have to get everything off of the tables to use at the show. SO! stuff just gets swept into the nearest container and stashed away. Not the best organizational system. The article linked above provides a unique perspective to decluttering. The rest of the blog has other useful information to browse. I think her method makes a great deal of sense, but as I do not have an area large enough to do this in considering all the items I have in my basement; I am doing the bit by bit method of judging the items and trashing, donating or reorganizing what I want to keep. It's Slooooow going. Thanks for stopping by ~Huggs~ Iantha
Well, I'm not actually reading it, I am listening to the audio book in my car. I do love a good Archaeology adventure and the Fargos never fail to provide just that. This time the adventure starts out in the search for an old book that Remi whats to give to Sam. As luck would have it the store gets robbed when Remi is there looking for the book and as the title infers a search for pirate treasure begins that sends our jet setting couple around the globe while trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys.
